Join us Friday, Aug. 13 for WFU Summer Conference at Kamp Kenwood. Registration is $10.00 and begins at 9 a.m., with the first of three speakers kicking things off at 10:35 a.m.  Joining us will be:
- Steph Larsen with the Center for Rural Affairs, who will outline what health-care reform means to rural residents;
- Margaret Bau, cooperative development specialist with USDA Rural Development, who will speak about global cooperative initiatives;
- Heather Hunt, an estates and trusts expert with Wiley Law in Chippewa Falls, who will discuss legacy giving.
- USDA Farm Service Agency state Executive Director Brad Pfaff, who will provide an update about FSA programs.
The day also includes lunch, camp tours and other activities. Â We have special events for members with children joining in. Â Children ages 7 and up can register for Acorn Camp, a day camp during the Summer Conference with optional overnight. Cost is $15 for the day or $25 for the overnight. Â Family Camp (August 13-14) is a great way to introduce younger children and grandchildren to the tradition of Kamp Kenwood. Cost for Family Camp is $65 for one adult and up to two elementary-aged children; additional adults are $25 each, additional youth $15 each. Accompanying adults may choose to participate in either the Summer Conference or the Family Camp activities. Â Children under 7 are welcome to participate in Acorn Camp (day option) or Family Camp but must be accompanied by an adult or an older child. Checkout for Acorn overnighters and Family Camp follows breakfast on Saturday morning. Â Printable registration forms for these kid-friendly options can be found online at www.wisconsinfarmersunion.com or can be requested from the WFU office. Â We look forward to seeing you at the Summer Conference. Â
