Biochar, Compost, and Pizza on the Farm!

Mark your calendar for a Soil Carbon Amendments Field Day on Friday, September 13 (11am - 3pm) at Whitefeather Organics in Custer, WI.

Soil Carbon Amendments Field Day flyer. Includes information about the event and topics: biochar and compost.

Interested in improving soil on your farm? Attend this fall field day to learn about the benefits of biochar and compost as soil carbon amendments. Whitefeather Organics will provide a tour of their farm where they're currently using a biochar reactor, and Bucket Ruckus compost service, serving the City of Stevens Point, will share information about their composting process. Attendees will also hear from featured speaker, soil scientist Bryant Scharenbroch. Bryant is an Associate Professor of Soil and Waste Resources at UW-Stevens Point and is known for sharing his infectious passion for soil with his students, colleagues, and community. He has explored the production and application of biochar and compost through his academic work as well as his own operation, SOIL Farm.

Piles of compost are shown in a field on a sunny day.

Attendees will enjoy a free wood-fired pizza lunch and a chance to network with like-minded farmers. This event is free but space is limited. Find more info and register here: https://www.wisconsinfarmersunion.com/fcs-wi-events

This field day is hosted by Wisconsin Farmers Union's Farm Climate Smart WI project, Golden Sands Resource Conservation and Development Council, and Whitefeather Organics.
